Summer Tailgate Parties at Zion...see below!

2010 End-of-Summer Picinick

End-of-Summer "Picinick" Sunday, August 22

Yeah, we mis-spelled picinick...but on purpose!  The NFCLYO End-of-Summer "Picinick" (we tossed a couple extra letters to represent some extra happenings beyond a typical picnic) is coming on Sunday, August 22 from 2-7 pm at the Picnic Shelter of St. Nicodemus, Marilla.  An afternoon of great games and activities, cookout dinner and a sunset worship are all included.  Check out this event's page for the latest and greatest info!

Summer Tailgate Parties at Zion, Clarence Center

Wednesday evenings through July 28 from 6:30-8:30 pm!
The parking lot will be packed with all the things you need for a good summertime party!  Food for all, tournaments each night and campfires abound.  We'll be playing Ga-Ga Ball, Ultimate Frisbee, Kickball, Kan-Jam and more!  There will also be space for jamming so bring your gee-tars.  All welcome!

Hunger-thon 2010 recap

What a fantastic overnight and day after for the approximately 50 youth and adults at this year's Hunger-Thon at Holy Trinity, Buffalo on May 14-15!  Overnight we had some games, worship, and a series of workshops designed to take us deeper in our faith.  The next day we hiked up to the West Side and planted two apple trees in front of Concerned Ecumenical Ministry's building as our symbolic gesture to feed the city (all the while fasting ourselves).  Upon coming back, the parking lot was transformed into a community picnic free for all with music by the band from North Park Lutheran.  Best of all, $1,350 was raised to support Loaves and Fishes, a community soup kitchen!  Thanks to Holy Trinity, Buffalo for their leadership and to all that came and made a difference for this great event that's sure to return next year!

Check out pictures from this year's event at our Picture Album!

2010 Northeast Region Youth Gathering coming this summer

2010 Northeast Region Youth GatheringStill talking about the 2009 ELCA Youth Gathering in New Orleans?  Want to have a gathering experience next summer, but a little closer to home?  This is it!  The Northeast region of the ELCA (which covers all of New York, New Jersey, New England and the eastern half of Pennsylvania) has their own youth gathering the year after an ELCA Gathering...and 2010 is that year!  Head to www.youthgathering2010.org for more info on this gathering for 9-12 grades happening in West Chester, PA (outside Philadelphia) on July 22-25.

By the way, the ELCA 2012 Youth Gathering is going back to New Orleans!
